Toronto, Ontario December 9, 2009 - Delmar International Inc. (www.delmarcargo.com) a wholly owned Canadian logistics service provider with subsidiaries in the United States and Asia, announces the acquisition of The Federated Group of companies including Federated Customs Brokers Limited, Federated Freight Services Limited, J.D. O’Hearn & Company Limited and Federated International, Inc. (Federated).
Founded in 1953 as a “brokers broker”, Federated was initially formed by a number of independent Canadian customs brokers to facilitate customs clearance on behalf of Canadian Customs Brokers at the many US-Canadian inland border points.
With the proliferation of information systems and changes in government regulations, Federated soon began to outgrow its original mandate and started to focus on developing direct clientele. In recent years, Federated also became a technology service provider for many of its shareholders, as well as other Canadian Customs Brokers.
The Federated Group carries on business in Vancouver, Sarnia, Windsor, Fort Erie, Niagara Falls, Hamilton, Montreal, Toronto and Buffalo NY.
