Air Canada Strike Notice
Air Canada Flight Attendants Issue Strike Notice for August 16, 2025
Overview
The union representing Air Canada flight attendants issued the company with a 72-hour strike notice on August 13, 2025, with the strike potentially beginning on Saturday, August 16, 2025.
How the Strike Affects Importers
Air Canada will gradually suspend flights in preparation for the potential strike. The first wave of flight cancellations is expected to begin Thursday, August 14, with further disruptions on Friday.
A full cessation of operations by both Air Canada and Air Canada Rouge is anticipated by the weekend.
As a result, increased rates and reduced capacity are expected, particularly on key trade lanes.
