BC Port Strike Update

blog | Jul 13, 2023

The BC Maritime Employers Association (BCMEA) and the union representing thousands of dock workers reached a tentative agreement on Thursday, July 13th signaling an end to the job action that began July 1.

Read the full statement from the BCMEA: Tentative Agreement reached between the BCMEA and ILWU Canada, operations to resume as soon as possible.

Although this is positive news, significant backlogs have already been caused by the labor action and we expect delays to be felt over the next weeks and possibly months.

As a precaution, Delmar will continue to leverage Emergency Rail Services (ERS) where possible to expedite the movement of containers from the west coast as work resumes within the various terminals.

Delmar will continue to monitor developments and keep you updated as new relevant information becomes available.
