Final Safeguard Measures Imposed on the Importation of Certain Steel Goods

This is a reminder that the upcoming changes to safeguard rates take effect on May 13, 2021. 

As outlined in Tables 2 and 3 of Customs Notice 19-08 – Final Safeguard Measures Imposed on the Importation of Certain Steel Goods, the safeguard surtax rates will decrease for imported subject goods absent a shipment-specific import permit as follows: 

• For Heavy Plate, the rate will decrease from 15% to 10%. 
• For Stainless Steel Wire, the rate will decrease from 15% to 5%.
