Hurricane Idalia Impacts Freight Forwarding

Hurricane Idalia made landfall on Florida's Gulf Coast today, Wednesday, August 30, as a Category 3 hurricane with rain, winds and a storm surged.

In preparation, the United States Coast Guard closed the Jacksonville Port terminal on Tuesday, August 29 evening.

In addition, the local port officials and the United States Coast Guard have closed the port of Savannah to inbound vessel traffic and gates for truck traffic at 12:00pm EDT today. The port of Charleston is closely monitoring the storm and is expected to announce port start times for Thursday, August 31st, by 3:00pm this afternoon. As for rail, both CSX and Norfolk Southern are closely tracking the storm to adjust operations as needed.

We will continue to monitor the situation and we are working to reduce impacts on customer shipments. Our team will keep you informed as new relevant updates become available.
