Service Interruption due to B.C. Interior Fires
The following is an update to our previous notice entitled "Port of Vancouver Update & Rail Delays".
CP Rail’s mainline outage near Lytton, British Columbia has been cleared. Exports being returned to inland CP ramps will be accepted, pending possible trouble booth approval.
Meanwhile, CN Rail’s mainline outage remains in place. CN is working towards completing the inspection process and has been able to slowly detour over CP tracks as of Tuesday. The plan is to run two trains east & west today – pending confirmation on timing. However, until further notice, CN will not be accepting exports or providing reservations at their inland rail ramps for westbound cargo.
Due to the fires and impact to rail car supply, port terminals in Vancouver are congested and working at limited capacity. GCT Delta Port outbound rail footage has been reduced and delays to scheduled vessel arrivals are anticipated. The overall backlog is significant and customers may expect delays of 72 to 96 hours.
Delmar will continue to monitor this situation as it evolves, and provide regular updates as additional details become available.
