US East and Gulf Coast – ILA Contract Update
blog | Sep 10, 2024
The International Longshoremen’s Association held its wage scale meetings on September 4th and 5th, 2024. In addition to finalizing its contract demands, it also laid ground for the ILA’s strike mobilization plan.
With the approaching contract expiration date of September 30th, 2024, ILA President Harold Dagget said that the ILA will “most definitely” strike if it does not get the contract demands it seeks. The United States Maritime Alliance (USMX) responded that it has prepared to resume negotiations and hopes the union will share its current contract demands to avoid a strike.
