US Rail Strike Update

USA Class 1 Railroads are positioned to strike as the final cooling off period is set to expire on Friday, September 16th and the remaining unions have yet to reach an agreement. Negotiations are ongoing, however, if implemented, the strike will impact all US railroads. Canadian source and destined cargo are not expected to be impacted by the pending lockout.

Most rail operators are implementing contingency plans this week as part of a sequential shutdown ensuring hazardous and other sensitive and special cargo remain safe. These safety measures include stopping the acceptance of on-dock rail at port container terminals and closing gates to intermodal traffic.

Delmar will continue to monitor the ongoing situation and provide updates as needed.
