Delmar International Inc. Paid Tribute to Military Families at the April 12th Islanders Game
MONTREAL, April 20, 2023-- Delmar International Inc. (www.delmarcargo.com), a global giant in freight forwarding and customs brokerage, continues to build upon its relationship with the National Hockey League (NHL)’s New York Islanders.
With offices in 15 countries, Delmar International has been a corporate supporter of professional sports teams and events for years. When the New York Islanders moved to the new, state of the art UBS Arena last season, the Delmar logo began appearing on the ice. That has continued this year, along with ramped up digital assets, a sponsorship agreement that has now been extended for the 2023-2024 season.
Quite fittingly, at the game on April 12 at UBS Arena between the Islanders and the Montreal Canadiens, Delmar worked with United Heroes League (UHL), a US non-profit organization, whose mission is to support military families. Through a sponsorship agreement with the Islanders, Delmar has donated 20 pairs of tickets to the UHL. Present at the game were serving service members, honorably discharged veterans, disabled veterans and veterans who served 20 plus years in the military.
These veterans love the game of hockey and enjoyed a night out with their families,” said Riley Northcott, Vice President of Public Relations for United Heroes League and a Marine Corps Veteran. “We are so thankful to partner with Delmar International to help support our military families. It is the support from companies like this that makes our mission possible. The military community is very appreciative of this generous opportunity.”
Former United States Marine, Frank Bello, has been the President of Delmar’s operations in the Greater New York area since 2015.
This was both mine and Delmar’s first experience with UHL, which helps heal, build friendships and engagement through sports in both Canada and the United States,” he said. “As a veteran myself, this type of promotion means the world to me. It’s not just about supporting and giving something back to the men and women in uniform, it’s also about honoring the families who support them. This example is a powerful reminder that we are not alone in our journey and that there are those who will still stand up with us every step of the way.”

Earlier this season, Delmar sponsored a Billy Smith bobble head giveaway evening to the first 10,000 fans who entered the UBS Arena. Smith, the former Islanders goaltender and Hockey Hall of Famer, was on hand and spent time with members in the arena.
Delmar International has a long history of sponsoring sporting events, from Formula One races, the Super Bowl, the NHL and the LPGA.
