What You Need to Know 

Following our previous announcement regarding the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, there has been a significant increase in global fuel volatility resulting in higher transportation operating costs.  

These pressures are directly affecting the North American trucking market, where capacity was already constrained prior to the conflict.  

 

Trucking Freight Impact 

Clients may experience the following effects within the trucking sector: 

• Higher freight rates and fuel surcharges driven by increased fuel costs. 

• Tighter capacity and reduced availability of equipment and drivers. 

• Occasional pickup and delivery delays as we manage network congestion. 

• Lower scheduling flexibility, particularly for last‑minute or specialized moves.

To help mitigate the effects of current market conditions, Delmar recommends: 

• Building additional lead time into your supply chain where possible. 

• Reviewing mode alternatives (e.g., intermodal, LTL vs. FTL) when appropriate.
