On Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at approximately 1:30am ET, the Dali, a Maersk-operated container ship, lost power and struck the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, Maryland, US, causing the bridge to partially collapse.
Officials are currently focused on:
- Ensuring the safety of the ship’s crew
- Removal of debris to reopen the port
- Managing supply chain issues until the reopening of the port
- Rebuilding the bridge
- Search and rescue efforts
