Teamsters Canada Rail Conference (TCRC) Calls for a Strike Authorization Vote by Canadian National (CN) and Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) Train Crews

Further to our previous notice, Teamsters Canada Rail Conference (TCRC) has called for a strike authorization vote by Canadian National (CN) and Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) train crews as labor and management remain far apart on a new contract deal for engineers and conductors in Canada.

Leaders of the TCRC told their members on Thursday, March 28, 2024, that a strike vote will be held from April 8 to May 1 of 2024. If the rank and file vote to authorize a strike, the earliest a walkout or lockout could occur for CN and CPKC in Canada is May 22, 2024.

After being unable to reach agreements since last fall, labor and management have been negotiating with the help of federal conciliators, since March 1.

Delmar International will continue to monitor the situation and will provide further updates as they become available.
