Delmar's Commitment to the SmartWay® Transport Partnership

The logistics industry is at a critical juncture, facing increasing pressure to reduce emissions and minimize environmental impact. In response to these challenges, leading companies are turning to initiatives like the SmartWay® Transport Partnership.  

Operated by Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) and the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), SmartWay® is a voluntary program that promotes the efficient movement of goods while keeping fuel costs and environmental impact at a minimum. 

This partnership enables organizations to attract like-minded businesses who can share best practices with each other. The program supports educating members on how to reduce overall emissions, benchmark operations against others in the program, encourages members to track fuel consumption and enhance overall performance.  

Delmar International, a SmartWay® Transport Partner 

In 2023, Delmar International took a concrete step towards providing sustainable logistics solutions by becoming a SmartWay® Transport Partner, underscoring the organization’s commitment to combatting pollution and reducing emissions for its clients within the supply chain industry and the communities Delmar operates in. 

By leveraging SmartWay®'s proprietary software and data collection, Delmar gathered valuable insights into its involvement in overall truck emissions. Our SmartWay® truck carriers have shown an impressive 75% decrease in emissions per truck load weighing 20-ton travelling at 100/km compared to our non-SmartWay® carriers.  

With an increasing number of customers seeking ecologically responsible transport options, we are all the more committed to continuing to support carriers that prioritize energy efficiency and greenhouse gas reduction. 

Delmar aims to drive positive change in the supply chain industry and create a more sustainable future for all.  

Joining SmartWay® is both free and simple. We highly encourage other members of the logistics community and all our carriers to participate. Significant emissions reduction can be achieved by increasing the number of carriers joining SmartWay® and collaborating to implement cleaner technologies.
