Further to <a style="color: #003685; text-decoration: underline;" href="https://www.delmarcargo.com/en/resource-center/blog/canadas-two-major-railways-could-see-strike-in-may">our previous notice</a>, Teamsters Canada Rail Conference (TCRC) has called for a strike authorization vote by Canadian National (CN) and Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) train crews as labor and management remain far apart on a new contract deal for engineers and conductors in Canada.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Leaders of the TCRC told their members on Thursday, March 28, 2024, that a strike vote will be held from April 8 to May 1 of 2024. If the rank and file vote to authorize a strike, the earliest a walkout or lockout could occur for CN and CPKC in Canada is May 22, 2024.&nbsp;
After being unable to reach agreements since last fall, labor and management have been negotiating with the help of federal conciliators, since March 1.&nbsp;
